Greetings to all my readers!

This blog has had a 3-column appearance since it began in 2004. Have always liked the flexibility it has given me to display various “sidebar” items (affiliate ads, pictures, site stats, etc.).

Unfortunately, this 3-column appearance came with a price: it did not use a feature of Wordpress themes known as the “sidebar”. I’ve been able to live without this built-in feature and probably could continue to do so but… my life has gone through some pretty heavy changes recently and I want my blog to reflect that fact by giving it a new look.

After scouting around for a while, I’ve settled on a theme called Cutline. Smart design, smart coding and a very responsive theme author are among the most significant reasons for my choice.

Change is tough for some folks. It’s a bit tough for me to immediately love the 2-column format and I’m sure some of you, my readers, will bristle at the change, too. Please hang in there with me and let’s learn to love this new look together!

Cutline has some wonderful features that ought to make my posts more readable as well as stylish. Stay tuned to see what I mean.

For the next few days, though, I’m going to be tweaking Cutline to serve my wishes for the blog and there may inevitably be some glitches along the way.
