Google recommends upgrading to the NEW, safer Firefox 2.0

December 9th, 2006 · No Comments

google and firefox logosThis was about the coolest message I’ve encountered in some time. Among the many software projects I’m involved in, some still require Internet Explorer. So today I cautiously fired up IE. I have the home page set to Google and when IE appeared, the following message appeared across the top of the page:

Google recommends upgrading to the NEW, safer Firefox 2.0

I had to read it again to make sure I wasn’t being lured by some creative marketing attempt to swindle my click! Click here to see a full size image of how it looked to me (will open in another window).

I’m a long-time Firefox user and only a few days ago made the leap from my very solid, stable Firefox version 1.5 to the “New, safer Firefox 2.0″. Since this post isn’t a review of Firefox itself I’ll spare you a long and potentially technical description of all there is to love.

But if you’re curious about such things, you can find all the information you need to consider Firefox 2.0 as your browser of choice at Firefox - Rediscover the Web.
