I got wind of this amazing-looking Wordpress-plugin from the folks over at the Population Statistic blog (it’s a regular part of my daily reading; check it out if you haven’t already!).
Canvas for Wordpress looks (yes, Virginia, there are pictures!) and sounds very promising. Here’s a bit of the homepage blurb:
The New and Improved Online You
It’s time you broke the mold. Canvas brings the freedom to express yourself through design without needing to know CSS or PHP. With Canvas and Ink for Wordpress, you can easily rearrange, reconfigure, and colorize your entire blog without ever touching a line of code.
Ok, just one more and then I’ll leave you to discover the richness of Canvas for yourself:
Homegrown Software
Canvas was written from scratch by Karsten Temme and Yasser Dahab, two regular guys trying to bring a bit of creativity to the digital world.
We’re far from being PHP and JS pros, but that hasn’t stopped us from thinking big.
I like that attitude! I want some of that attitude myself!
Karsten and Yasser, if you’re reading this: THANK YOU for giving me a fresh start on what I earlier thought was going to be ‘just another Monday’. The promise of Canvas is now coursing through my veins and it feels GOOD!

Message received! Thanks for the post, and I’m glad we’re doing some exciting work. If only we could get it released faster :) The full public release is just around the corner, so we hope to make lots of people happy. You should be able to spend your time online expressing yourself, not trying to learn how to code a little eye candy for your site.
